INTRODUCTION

  1. A cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and is stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.

OUR COOKIES

  1. Our platform is separated into a public facing website (www.mycomplysafe.com) and an application with access restricted to authenticated users (app.mycomplysafe.com). These are separate systems and each uses a different set of cookies.

  2. On www.mycomplysafe.com we do not use any cookies of our own. The only cookies are provider cookies detailed in clause 3.

  3. On app.mycomplysafe.com we use session cookies, authentication cookies, security cookies and persistent cookies. The names of the cookies that we use and the purposes for which they are used, are set out below:

    • On app.mycomplysafe.com we use a session cookie asp.net_sessionID to track users as they navigate the website AND improve the website's usability.

    • On app.mycomplysafe.com we use a session cookie CSF.Authentication.Cookie.CSFProd to validate authenticated users sessions.

    • On app.mycomplysafe.com we use a persistent cookie CSF.Persistent.Cookie.CSFProd to recognise a computer when a user visits our website.

    • On app.mycomplysafe.com we use a session cookie CSF.RequestVerificationToken.CSFProd to prevent fraud and improve the security of the website.

    • On app.mycomplysafe.com we use a session cookie CSF.Session.Cookie.CSFProd to track users as they navigate the website AND improve the website's usability.

    • On app.mycomplysafe.com we use a persistent cookie EscherIdP.Authentication.Cookie.CSFProd to validate authenticated users sessions.

    • On app.mycomplysafe.com we use a session cookie EscherIdP.RequestVerificationToken.CSFProd to prevent fraud and improve the security of the website. 

PROVIDERS' COOKIES

  1. We use providers services for analytics on both www.mycomplysafe.com and app.mycomplysafe.com

  2. We use Google Analytics (GA) to analyse the use of our website (www.mycomplysafe.com) and application (app.mycomplysafe.com)

    • GA generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies.

    • The analytics cookies used by our website have the following names: [_ga, _gat, __utma, __utmt, __utmb, __utmc, __utmz and __utmv].

    • The information generated relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of our website.

  3. We use Amazon Mobile Analytics (AMA) to analyse the use of our application (app.mycomplysafe.com)

    • AMA generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies.

    • Information on data collection, retention and storage in AMA is available at https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/data-privacy-faq/

    • Our AMA data is stored within the EU. 

BLOCKING COOKIES

  1. Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies; for example:

    • in Firefox (version 50) you can block all cookies by clicking "Tools", "Options", "Privacy", selecting "Use custom settings for history" from the drop-down menu, and unticking "Accept cookies from sites"; and

    • in Chrome (version 55), you can block all cookies by accessing the "Customise and control" menu, and clicking "Settings", "Show advanced settings" and "Content settings", and then selecting "Block sites from setting any data" under the "Cookies" heading.

  2. Blocking all cookies will have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites.

  3. If you block cookies, you will not be able to use all the features on our website. 

DELETING COOKIES

  1. You can delete cookies already stored on your computer; for example:

    • in Firefox (version 50), you can delete cookies by clicking "Tools", "Options" and "Privacy", then selecting "Use custom settings for history" from the drop-down menu, clicking "Show Cookies", and then clicking "Remove All Cookies"; and

    • in Chrome (version 55), you can delete all cookies by accessing the "Customise and control" menu, and clicking "Settings", "Show advanced settings" and "Clear browsing data", and then selecting "Cookies and other site and plug-in data" before clicking "Clear browsing data".
